Very Pleased June 21, 2010 Barclaycard (UK) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Replaced my Ixus 75 with this impressive camera, wide angle to full zoom, macro also. Canon have fitted everything I wanted into this so no complaints.
I was considering the TZ10 also but prefered the look of the SX210, obviously as I did noy buy the Panasonic I cannot make a direct comparason.
Flash really is no problem, If you need it it lets you know anyway and with its low level light abilities you can be better off with no flash.
I am no camera expert and really just point and shoot with the occasional experiment, this makes this camera ideal for me. I am sure it will impress most people, I took a picture of the moon last night with full 56 x zoom (on tripod) you can see the Craters !!
One thing If like me you like to show your pictures on a TV then do buy a HDMI mini to HDMI cable, the normal hook up cable provided with the camera is rubbish, but with an HDMI cable you will be very satisfied.
Go Purple, You will not be disapointed with this.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!! Bought specifically for trip to South Africa and used in stadiums, bars and tourist trips whilst over there. Zoom is fantastic. Battery and SD card easy to fit and extract. Point and use, which for someone like me who is not a camera expert is exactly what I need. Transfer to PC from SD card very easy. A joy to use. If you want a camera thats powerful, compact, easy to use and versatile, then this is for you
Amazing!! July 17, 2010 shameenk 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I took this camera to a concert and took the best pictures of my life with it!! I'm so proud of the results!! The zoom is amazing, especially for getting close ups of the stage. It doesn't take ages between pressing the shutter and actually taking the pictures so you never miss a moment. The videos are high definition, better than most video cameras no doubt. Perfect. Would recommend to everyone!!
Don't be shy, go for purple! May 26, 2010 Essercizi 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I'm in agreement with the generally positive reviews for the black version of this great little camera (Canon PowerShot SX210 IS Digital Camera - Black (14.1 MP, 14x Optical Zoom) 3.0 Inch PureColor LCD). Yes, the pop-up flash does take a little getting used to, but I generally keep it closed when I switch on, which avoids those embarassing unintended flashes indoors! It's actually easy to hold it with your left index finger just behind the flash when it's up, resting on the curve of the back panel.
The main reason for this review was about the colour. Like many others, I suspect, looking at the ads I thought "Purple - no way!", but after seeing both the black and the purple "in the flesh" I was completely converted! The black seems washed out and "grubby", but the purple was much more stylish - quite dark, almost maroon in some lights. Having bought it, I'm extremely happy with it. In any case, the monstrous zoom lens dispels any idea that this is just a fashion statement camera...
One slight oddity I've noticed - I know that normal images don't fill the viewfinder (unless you use widescreen mode) and leave black bars either side - but what surprised me is that LCD panel doesn't extend to the right side of the viewfinder window - if you display a widescreen image (or open the setup menu and turn up the brightness), you'll see there's an extra gap of about 5mm at the right-hand side which is "dead space". In other words, they've made the viewfinder look bigger than it actually is. I suppose they didn't need the extra space on the back panel for buttons, but it seems a bit sneaky to me, almost like putting a 36 inch LCD in a 40 inch TV!
