Great buy May 15, 2010 Ms. J. Brown (Manchester, England) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Excellent laptop for the price, and no problems whatsoever. I was a bit wary about buying it as I'd read reviews which said it kept freezing (I think due to a combination of power settings and Vista), but no problems with Windows 7.
Runs quickly, and is lightweight yet has a disc drive, so I'm happy. Have to say though I did buy it thinking it was black, but it's actually got a darksih grey matte lid. Very stylish though, and multi-gesture touchpad is great and easy to use. No Bluetooth, but dongles are cheap.
Keyboard feels slightly cheap but that might just be the finish, and it looks good. HD graphics make films look great despite the lack of Blu-Ray player. This is the best laptop for the money of its size and power. The processor speed could be better, but then you do get a decent battery life on it and a good graphics card.
One of the best out there July 29, 2010 Shawn Cassar 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having tried many laptops, including certain more "recommanded" ones, I can say performance wise and price make this one a winner. The system is very stable, runs extremely cool, very light, thin and polished, with a very discreet business laptop appeal. Despite the claims that the screen does not open very far, I can assure you I have never found this to be a problem because the screen opens far enough. Most probably if you need to open it further a laptop is not for you. WiFi reception is excellent too, with the laptop providing excellent power, including enough to view HD movies and play recent games.
All in all, I recommand this system 100%, I can say that Acer did another marvellous job.
Just a great laptop January 31, 2010 Clyde from Malahide (Ireland) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
After three decades of Dell laptops, I took the leap and ordered this laptop with the turn of the new year and have I been very pleasantly surprised. Other than the touchpad which could do with a little work, this is ONE GREAT LAPTOP and no one is paying me to say this!
Excellent July 26, 2010 susan This new laptop has put my older computer into the background which will of course soon make it redundant although that was not my original plan.
Faster more user friendly long battery life etc etc.
My new "Acer" was a gift from my family (two of whom already have one!)and is the best birthday present ever .
Light, looks good, performs for business user March 25, 2010 D. SCHAUB-JONES 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this laptop a little over 2 months ago and it is really a great buy. I wanted something portable, but with enough power for business applications and it fills both requirements perfectly. It also looks good, which is not something I expected, but was pleasantly surprised with. I had done a lot of research before buying and liked the battery life, the low weight and the performance - all of which exceed my expectations. The wireless picks up very weak signals too, which is a bonus. Previously I had an HP, which was reliable, so I hope this proves so over time. So far I am very pleased however.
(the laptop does get criticised for not opening very far, which is indeed the case - if that is likely to be a problem for you I would look into it further. Some advising me wondered whether it would be suitable for business - I tend to open lots of applications at once and have had no issues with this, so I would not worry about that. I am not gaming.)
