Excellent Netbook January 7, 2010 GeeBee (Sussex, England) 49 out of 50 found this review helpful
I have a previous Acer laptop with which I am very pleased. However I needed a smaller lighter version with a decent memory to carry on holidays in order to use the internet and to store and review photographs at the end of each day. Although I was pre-inclined towards the Acer on the basis of my laptop, I reviewed and considered many offerings from various manufacturers before settling on this one.
I am glad I did and was not disappointed.
This is a beautiful little machine which is elegant, small and does exactly what I want. It comes supplied with both Windows XP Home and Google's Android operating systems and I have tried both. The advantage of the Google OS is the speed with which an Internet connection can be established compared to starting up Windows. However it is very easy to switch to Windows if required, and personally I have found that my previous knowledge and experience of Windows means I find it easier to use that OS. However, having the choice is great. Set up and registration was a doddle.
Despite the small size it is easy to operate and the keys are responsive although I wouldn't want to use it for prolonged periods of keying - eg word processing, although fine for the occasional spreadsheet. My only slight criticism is that I find the trackpad to be a bit too sensitive as I find myself occasionally accidentally tapping and entering when I want to just move the cursor. Nevertheless this is an excellent piece of kit.
Do beware when purchasing a cover for it though. In order to keep the product small but also provide decent battery life, this version comes with a 6-cell battery which does extend out of the shell at the back. This means that with the battery attached a slightly larger carrying cover is required than might be expected for a 10.1" machine. This is not a problem but be aware.
Thoroughly recommended if the spec meets your requirements for what you want to use it for.
Awsome Little Product! January 19, 2010 CAROLINE SINGH 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
The Acer Aspire One D250 is light, compact and very easy to use. The internet set-up was a 'breeze'as it connected with my wireless network automatically. It is really useful having the six cell battery as a similar product locally only came with 3 cell (offering 3hr battery life as opposed to 6). I am a part-time mature student, so I am going to get a great deal of use out of this product. The midnight blue colour is delightful. Having used full size keyboards for many years, I feared the compact nature of the Acer would be a problem - but absolutely not! Overall, very impressed.Acer Aspire One D250, 10.1-Inch LED LCD Netbook, Intel Atom N270, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB, XP Home & Android, up to 6 Hours Battery Life, Webcam, (Blue)

I have had this net book for approx.one month . Very impressed . A good small portable netbook . The only criticism I have is that i Found the Android program installed on it complicated and useless but I do not have to use it. Otherwise excellent

I purchased this netbook as a gift mainly for internet browsing/email/facebook and so far so good. It arrived very quickly, well packaged and was very easy to set up. It came with McAfee antivirus software already loaded, therefore no need to go to further expense. I personally prefer 15 to 17" laptop as keyboard small (which was expected on this 10" netbook) however, a very nippy little machine and has 6 hours battery life - does the job! Very well priced. Would recommend.
Well specified netbook July 14, 2010 Mr. D. J. Linnell (Northampton, England) I had purchased Acer equipment previously and when I was looking round for a netbook and saw Amazon were doing it at a really good price I was interested. I then checked the specification which I found was as good if not better than others which were 50% more. The netbook is very slim but with a very good screen and the built in wifi is superb. If you are looking for a netbook to take around with you to surf the internet and do a little word processing or work on a spreadsheet then this is for you. If you are looking for a cheap laptop then you will be frustrated by the small screen and I would not advise the purchase.
